OK, I know I posted my reading list almost two weeks ago. Well, I’m still not reading, but here is why. The ladies in my church get together and cross-stitch a quilt which we donate to the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home for their annual auction. All of the proceeds go to help the Children’s Home, so it’s a worthy cause. I decided my commitment to this quilt needed to come first, so I have been diligently working on it. I usually sit down about the time my children go to bed (usually 9:00). I then cross-stitch until my eyes cannot focus another minute (usually 1:00 a.m.). I am determined to complete this task in the next few days (unless I go blind before then! Ha Ha). Normally (when I’m not sewing), this is the only time I allow myself to sit and read. I am unfortunately the type of person that when I get into a book, I hear nothing, see nothing, and know nothing else aside from what I am reading. This typically makes for a horrible mom/teacher/wife. There have been many days that I have been reading (no TV, no distractions) and lost track of time. I’ll then hear my husband’s alarm go off for work (he gets up at 2:15 a.m. to be at work at 4:00 a.m.) and groan because I know it’s going to be a LONG day without much sleep!
Please be patient with me I will try to post some pictures of the finished projects. Here is one in the works! I have a total of six I am working on. I have completed the green and the red, I’ve only the pink left to complete!
